GCSE Results 2019

Year 11 pupils from the West London Free School have achieved excellent GCSE results. 12.3% of all grades were Grade 9s, 30% Grades were 9s and 8s, 51% of grades were at least a 7 (the equivalent to the old A grade), 88% were Grades 9-4. This is a significant improvement from the very strong set of results last year. 21 pupils gained a minimum of 9 exclusively top grades, with one pupil achieving 10 straight 9s. This is an extraordinary achievement, as this was only accomplished by just 0.1% of candidates last year, and most of those came from the independent sector or grammar schools. We are also delighted with our excellent EBacc pass of 69% and our Attainment 8 scores; I am confident that these will be among the highest in the country for a comprehensive school. These excellent results are undoubtedly due to the strongly academic Classical Liberal ethos and our unique knowledge rich curriculum that are the cornerstones of the school, the hard work of both pupils and teachers, and the rigorous approach to teaching and learning taken by the staff throughout the school. I am extremely proud of our pupils’ achievements; they all worked extremely hard and fully deserve their outstanding results.

The school’s Progress 8, Attainment 8 and EBacc scores were all well above what pupils achieved in last year’s results. Precise final data will be released by the DfE in the autumn. Many congratulations go to all pupils and staff for their hard work, dedication and deserved successes.

I am confident that these results will be among the highest in the country for a comprehensive school. These excellent results are undoubtedly due to the strongly academic Classical Liberal ethos and our unique knowledge rich curriculum combined with the hard work of both pupils and teachers. I am extremely proud of our pupils’ achievements; they all worked extremely hard and fully deserve their outstanding results.
